Michael Colberg Sale
A one day only jewelry trunk sale
Michael Colberg began making jewelry as a way of contributing to a community-building project that he worked on. He began painting as a child and had always been excited by the interplay between color and light. Making jewelry has given him a new avenue in which to explore this love.
He’s fascinated at how a sliver of copper can, at times, do more to enhance an emerald than can a diamond, how a piece of iron from Africa can become the perfect counterpoint to a Chinese pearl, or how, poignantly, a piece of Tibetan coral can so naturally join together with a disc made of Chinese turquoise in harmony and with dignity.
“It is about the synergy, the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. It is, in a way, a bringing together of what I do as a family therapist and what I hope to do as an artist. My desire is to help people experience the benefits inherent…” – Michael Colberg
Join us on November 8th for a special one-day trunk show of Michael’s jewery.
Expect pieces in his favorite textures and materials: The texture and history of African Trading Beads in Brass, Copper and Silver, the irregularity of hand cut Indian Amethysts, Diamonds, Emeralds, Rubies, Sapphires, Peridot, Aquamarine, Lolite and the iridescence of Labradorite.
